چکیده

Despite keen interest in the development of efficient materials for removal polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) wastewater, application advanced composite is still unexplored and needs attention. Therefore, this study focused on synthesis oil palm leaves’ waste activated-carbon (OPLAC) nano zerovalent iron (NZVI) at Fe:OPLAC = 1:1 (N-OPLAC-1) 1:2 (N-OPLAC-2). The with enhanced surface properties was applied three PAHs including naphthalene (NAP), fluorene (FLU) phenanthrene (PHE) wastewater various pH, dosages, contact time initial concentration batch testing. PAHs’ parameters were optimized using design expert software. efficiency evaluated produced water parameters. results showed that N-OPLAC-2 had superior compared to N-OPLAC-1. NAP, FLU PHE heterogenous, favorable involved chemisorption proved by Freundlich isotherm pseudo-second-order kinetic models N-OPLAC-2. optimum as follows: pH 3, dosage 122 mg/L 49 min, respectively. up 90% efficiency, higher stability 3 cycles. It can be concluded NZVI-OPLAC successfully synthesized good (NAP, PHE) wastewater.

Enhanced Recyclable Magnetized Palm Shell Waste-Based Powdered Activated Carbon for the Removal of Ibuprofen: Insights for Kinetics and Mechanisms

A novel preparation method of magnetized palm shell waste-based powdered activated carbon (MPPAC, avg. size 112 μm) was developed. The prepared MPPAC was assessed by several physicochemical analyses, and batch tests were performed for ibuprofen (IBP) removal. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and N2 gas isotherms revealed that magnetite and maghemite were homogeneous and depos...

Arsenic removal by iron-modified activated carbon.

Iron-impregnated activated carbons have been found to be very effective in arsenic removal. Oxyanionic arsenic species such as arsenate and arsenite adsorb at the iron oxyhydroxide surface by forming complexes with the surface sites. Our goal has been to load as much iron within the carbon pores as possible while also rendering as much of the iron to be available for sorbing arsenic. Surface ox...

Kinetics and thermodynamics of cadmium ion removal by adsorption onto nano zerovalent iron particles.

Nano zerovalent iron (nZVI) is an effective adsorbent for removing various organic and inorganic contaminants. In this study, nZVI particles were used to investigate the removal of Cd(2+) in the concentration range of 25-450 mg L(-1). The effect of temperature on kinetics and equilibrium of cadmium sorption on nZVI particles was thoroughly examined. Consistent with an endothermic reaction, an i...
